So, a while ago I posted a little video on my YouTube channel. It's a video of danlmarmot eating a cracker.

Yesterday, some kid stopped by and posted the comment "Wat a fag".

I'm crafting my response to him. I know it won't really do anything, nor change his attitude, but I'm just so fed up with people who have that attitude.

Anyway, here's what I've got so far.

I'm glad that you feel comfortable enough to share your childish, 18-year-old ignorance with us. My life is more enriched and full because of you.

It's just awesome that the future of our nation, and our society, is in the hands of douchenozzles like you; people who feel entitled to make negative comments about everybody and everything that is different from themselves, without any thought to the outcome of their actions or any fear of recourse because of the anonymity granted by the Internet.

So again, thank you. Thank you for stopping by and spreading your vile, ignorant, homophobic hatred.

Hmmm. Tough call.

On the one hand, this could be that manner of societal malcontent whose aim is to invade the Internet with a sort of drive-by vandalism, perhaps hoping to draw people out into a protracted battle of message-board wits. In fact, it is possible that just by garnering such a thought-out retort, he may feel some measure of victory that he successfully annoyed you.

So, my inclination would be to delete the comment and carpe the diem. I think that is the most direct way to diminish his existence.

It's my experience that continuing such a conversation usually ends-up making things worse... a flame war erupts, people get upset and nothing really changes.

There are millions more like him. Just ignore.

You could post lost footage of Mother Teresa, and someone will proclaim it to be "gay", or "fake" or "you're a nigger fag cunt shit ball".

Just delete it, and post videos to Vimeo, where there are fewer ignorant douchenozzles.
